Why location is decisive

A cloud service is only as good as the data center it runs in. Latency, availability, connectivity, physical security and energy efficiency are all determined at the data center level – long before the first server is switched on. That is why we deliberately chose the best available location instead of cheaper secondary sites.

Our infrastructure is located in the Digital Realty data center on the Digital Park Ostend in Frankfurt am Main – Germany’s largest data hub and one of the most important internet exchange points in the world.

Directly at the DE-CIX – the world’s largest internet exchange

The Digital Park Ostend hosts the core infrastructure of the DE-CIX, the world’s largest internet exchange point. More than 80 percent of DE-CIX members maintain their peerings directly at this location. For our customers, this proximity means concrete advantages:

• Minimal latency – the shortest possible distance to Europe’s central peering point
• Maximum connectivity quality – access to more than 700 carriers, ISPs, CDNs and IX providers
• Direct cloud peering – high-performance, redundant connectivity to all major cloud platforms via the ServiceFabric™ platform
• Multiple redundant fiber – physically separated routes via different providers

We operate our own AS57358

IMT-Systems operates its own autonomous system with AS57358. This is a decisive difference from many hosting providers that merely pass on IP addresses from their upstream provider. With our own AS and our own address space, this means for you:

• Full control over routing – we determine the paths of our traffic ourselves
• Our own IPv4 and IPv6 networks – portable and independent of a single upstream
• BGP multihoming – redundant connectivity via multiple carriers, automatic failover
• Direct peerings – shorter paths, lower latency, better control during incidents

Power supply: uncompromisingly redundant

Business-critical systems must not fail – and the location’s power supply is designed exactly for that:

• 2N UPS systems – fully redundant uninterruptible power supply with no single point of failure
• N+1 diesel backup – with SLA for diesel delivery
• 60 hours of diesel capacity – contractually guaranteed
• Guaranteed availability of up to 99.999%
• High-density capable – up to 30 kW per cabinet for the most demanding configurations

Cooling and fire protection

• Redundant CRAC systems (at least N+1) per room, with a redundant chilled-water supply network
• VESDA fire detection – state-of-the-art air-sampling smoke detection in all customer rooms
• Argon-based fire suppression – residue-free extinguishing without damage to hardware
• Fire walls (F90/F120) between sections
• 24/7 monitoring of the entire infrastructure: cooling, CRAC, fire detectors, generators, UPS
• Temperature and humidity in line with ASHRAE standards

Physical security

Digital Realty’s high-security campus is comprehensively protected:

• Security fence around the entire data center campus
• Multi-stage access system with contactless key cards, biometric access systems and mantrap portals
• 24/7 video surveillance (CCTV)
• Trained security and technical staff on site – around the clock
• Controlled access at any time of day or night

Sustainability: 100% renewable energy

Digital sovereignty and ecological responsibility are not mutually exclusive:

• 100% electricity from renewable sources
• Modular architecture to optimize energy efficiency (PUE)
• Strict separation of warm and cold air flows for maximum cooling efficiency
• Operated in line with the highest energy standards

Certifications

The location is certified according to the relevant international standards: ISO 27001 (information security), ISO 22301 (business continuity), ISO 9001 (quality management), ISO 14001 (environmental management), ISO 50001 (energy management) and PCI-DSS.

GDPR-compliant – exclusively in Germany

All data remains physically in Frankfurt am Main, under German law and fully GDPR-compliant. No data transfer to third countries, no US jurisdiction, no hidden sub-processors. For public authorities, healthcare, financial service providers and critical infrastructure operators, this is not an option but a requirement.
