BYOL: You keep control over your VMware licenses
After Broadcom’s acquisition of VMware, licensing models and prices have changed significantly. We have therefore decided on a clear line: We operate your ESXi server – you manage the VMware licenses yourself (Bring Your Own License).
What this means for you:
- Full licensing sovereignty: You keep the direct contractual relationship with Broadcom / VMware and thus control over versions, editions and contract terms
- Transparent infrastructure costs: With us you pay exclusively for the infrastructure – no hidden license margins, no opaque bundling
- Strategic flexibility: You can adjust your license strategy independently from us – without contractual dependency or lock-in
- Protection against license changes: If Broadcom changes conditions, you are better positioned as a direct customer than via a reseller
This deliberate separation of infrastructure and licensing protects you from the risks of a volatile licensing market and gives you the freedom to manage your VMware strategy independently. If needed, we also support you with a gradual migration to Proxmox VE – the license-free open-source alternative with a similar feature set.
